About

We are taking our beach cleanups to a whole new level – WORLDWIDE! Please join us for a VIRTUAL Community Cleanup! You can volunteer your time to cleanup your neighborhood, park, beach or waterway to protect the health of the community and the environment. Whether you're near shore or not, your efforts make a big difference for the health of our waterways and oceans.

  • Volunteers of all ages will need to provide reusable cleaning supplies like buckets, gloves and/or grabbers to use to clean up.

  • The day before Earth Day, April 21st, at 9am PST, you will E-meet one of our Naturalists to jump start your volunteer service!

  • This year Earth Day falls on a Monday, and we know many of you have busy schedules, so to give everyone a chance to participate, we will be extending this Virtual Cleanup for a whole week! You can volunteer and clean up for 2 hours anytime between April 21, 2024 and April 27, 2024. Hopefully, this gives you the flexibility to get out there and celebrate our beautiful Earth by showing some love to it!

  • To say thank you, San Diego Whale Watch will be giving the first 50 Registered participants a FREE pass to join us for a whale watching adventure! TWO requirements other than volunteering your time is that you please spread awareness of your efforts by posting three photos per person to Facebook or Instagram AND track trash collected through the CleanSwell app. We request the CleanSwell summary of trash collected.

  • Photo ideas include a picture of you picking up litter, trash in the environment, and displaying full buckets of trash…Be creative!

  • In your posts, please tag @sdwhalewatch and include the following 3 hashtags: #sdwhalewatch , #beachcleanup , #earthday2024
Thank you so much for helping us keep our communities and oceans clean!
